Growing up in Galveston, Texas, Boor was involved in musical theater as a child, then, as an early teen, inspired by Blink 182’s iconic album "Enema Of The State," he picked up a bass and began writing songs. He attended Musician’s Institute in Los Angeles, where he founded pop-punk band Assemble The Skyline.
